There are some books of the Bible that comfort you immensely 

Ecclesiastes isn’t one of them 

The Preacher unsettles you / He rattles your cage

He asks questions / you would rather avoid / Questions about
origin / meaning / morality / justice / suffering / death / and destiny 

Now / we’ve been journeying with the Preacher for the last many weeks

We’ve traced his steps / agonised with him

He’s tried to understand the meaning of life

by pursuing pleasure / wisdom / wealth / knowledge

You could say 

He’s tried materialism / hedonism / existentialism and nihilism 

and all he succeeds in doing is paint himself into a corner
